Why use business coaching?
Why do coaching?
Coaching is highly effective at improving performance because it:
- Provides on-going support that holds individuals to account by setting targets
- Provides tailored support which addresses the individual’s challenges, environments and learning styles
- Provides an impartial and confidential sounding board for discussion
- Challenges individuals to take new approaches to work
- Enables individuals to tackle their own limiting behaviours and beliefs
For these reasons coaching has been shown to:
- Provide more effective development than advanced management training
- Dramatically increase training’s return on investment
- Improve organisational performance
- Lower stress, improve morale and decrease staff turnover
- Develop project management skills
- Increase political and emotional awareness and intelligence in the workplace
These aspects are difficult to develop with training courses alone and training is often left behind when back in the workplace. However, one-to-one regular coaching is highly effective at developing new skills which can be applied consistently over a period of time.
